Elaine's Outing, April 23 or so, 2003

Elaine took the camera with her when she was by herself and I was at work, and went on some outings. Here are some pictures of views from and of the hotel: San Juan bay San Juan bay The cathedral The 'plunge' pool The pool area
Here are some pictures around town: Little sculpture on the wall at the San Jose church The Pablo Casals museum Museum of the Americas Plaza near San Jose church Plaza near San Jose church Plaza near San Jose church
Elaine walked in the northern part of the old city, toward La Perla, a settlement outside the wall. She didn't actually go into La Perla - according to our guide book it is a ready source of drugs (illegal drugs), and she wasn't interested. Also who knows what else would go on down there! Anyway you can peak at it from inside the wall. The wall, with the Atlantic Ocean in the background, and

Elaine continued east of la Perla and went by Fort San Cristobal. She didn't tour the fort then - we saw it together later. San Juan's wall, Fort San Cristobal to the right Fort San Cristobal Fort San Cristobal Lookout at Fort San Cristobal Norzagaray street near the Fort
Here's a typical street sign in old San Juan - there's no room for sign posts on the corner, so they put the signs right on the buildings. It's very romantical, but they are hard to see when you are driving. Here are also some more miscellaneous pictures: Calle de la Luna sign A pretty gate Cafe Berlin interior The cathedral Kites at the fort
