On Thursday, April 24, we went to the art museum. Courtyard with flowers at art museum More flowers at art museum Courtyard light at the art museum Painting by Jose Campeche, big PR artist Exhibition poster for Campeche show
Then we went to the Castillo del Morrow - the fort. Here are some pictures: The sign at the fort. Kites at the fort Flags fly at the fort Breathtaking view of the fort Diagram of the fort Cannonballs upstairs at the fort Elaine in a lookout turret Fort flags

We ran out of battery power so that was it for pictures at Castillo del Morrow. Later we went by the other fort (Catillo San Cristobal). We couldn't go in because it was too late in the day. We went back later. Here are some pictures from our aborted visit and some other pictures: Fort San Cristobal exterior Lookout turret at Fort San Cristobal William at lookout turret at Fort San Cristobal Old San Juan cemetery
We went to the Centro de Bellas Artes again - this time to see Andanza Acustica, a dance ensemble with music mostly from Puerto Rican composers. This performance had a live 11 piece band, and was really cool. Of course we have no pictures from the performance, because you can't bring cameras in there. Afterwards we went to Baru, an expensive little restaurant in old San Juan that our concierge had been recommending. The food was served like tapas, so we got a bunch of little plates that we shared. Here's us and our waiter. Us at Baru More us at Baru Our waiter at Baru
On Friday April 25 we drove to Ponce, which is on the south side of the island. We mainly went because it was there, and it was less than an hour away, and because it faces the Caribbean, which technically we had not seen (because San Juan faces the Atlantic Ocean on the north side of Puerto Rico). So we drove over the mountains to Ponce, ate dinner, went to a little museum, dipped our toes in the Caribbean Sea, and then came back. Ponce was OK, but we liked San Juan better.
