We got up and schlepped our bags down to the street at 2:00 AM to catch our 2:30 Uber ride to the airport. It was a tense half hour standing on the street because the Uber never showed up. William texted the driver and reached out through the Uber app, to no avail. We eventually called a taxi, which arrived in about two minutes, and got us to the airport for our flight to Frankfurt and our connection home on time.
Carrying the bags down six half-flights of steps was brightened by the art hanging in the stairwell on the way down.
The art really made the hotel special.

Elaine is still waiting, and getting one last experience with Portugal’s cobblestones.
We’ll miss Portugal. It was a wonderful trip filled with a great mix of experiences. We look forward to another visit someday.
