Pacific Northwest April-May 2023
We reserved our last full day in the Pacific Northwest for a mission: to obtain Poulsbo bread to take home and for Peg. Poulsbo bread used to be available nationally, and we got it when we lived in the Washington DC area years ago, and loved it. They have since discontinued national distribution, and the bread is now only available at Sluy’s Bakery in Poulsbo. Poulsbo is on the Olympic Peninsula, not far from Bainbridge Island, so we also had our last ferry rides across Puget Sound.

Elaine and Peg waited in the car while William explored the ferryboat.

Our grand finale dinner with Peg and Karen was at The Oyster Bar on Chuckanut Drive in Bow, WA. It had great views overlooking Samish Bay, from which some of our dinner was harvested!
