Spain 2022

October 12, 2022: This was a travel day. We rented a car and drove from Barcelona to Valencia, stopping for lunch at Tarragona. We had hoped to visit some archeological sites in Tarragona, but we exhausted ourselves driving in the pedestrian-only section in the ancient part of the city (thanks Google!). After extricating our car, we found a nice place for lunch.

We arrived in Valencia and scrupulously took a photo of the car’s location so we could find it a couple days later when we left.

Welcome to Valencia!

October 13, 2022: We visited the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, had lunch at the beach, then toured a pretty garden and the Valencia cathedral.

We passed by the Hemisfèric building, where there is an IMAX theater. It is part of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, Valencia’s large complex of theaters and museums.

More of Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. The science museum, where we went is in the middle, and the aquarium is to the right.

The Mediterranean Sea at Valencia

Almost time for lunch at El Bobo restaurant.

Appetizers. Not sure what these things are (except the bread), but they were good.

Our waiter told us the arroz negro was their specialty.

About to touch the Mediterranean. First time to do so in Spain, second time over all.
