California Vacation 2002-2003
December 26-30, 2002
We parked our car at a parking lot at Detroit Metropolitan airport. Here's Elaine and
William posed with Pinkie, Elaine's automobile.
This was very early in the morning. Despite our early arrival, we would have missed
our flight. Fortunately they had rescheduled us on a later flight, so all was well.
And here's Elaine in the parking lot shuttle.
We arrived in Los Angeles. William waited a long time for the rental car.
We tried to go to
the La Brea Tar Pits on the way to visit William's family in Tehachapi,
but got stuck in bad post-christmas traffic in Beverly Hills.
We aborted the traffic and ate lunch at a delightful
little restaurant called Louise's on Pico Blvd in West L.A.
Elaine was glad she brought her sunglasses. Here she is en route to Tehachapi.
Closer to Tehachapi we stopped at a scenic overlook near Palmdale. In the background
you can see the San Andreas fault, and the California aqueduct - parked right next
to each other for some reason.
We arrived in Tehachapi and my sister Terri and my dad posed for pictures.
Monroe and Mica.
Around the house - Dad and Roxie, Dad, Dad and William, Elaine, and dinnertime
